The Signs of Toenail/Nail Fungus (Toenail Fungus Remedies)

Toenail Fungus Remedies

Hi there! This time I'm not going to write on toenail fungus remedies but on the signs of toenail fungus. You know, I believe that there are people who don't know about this toenail fungus thing even they have it until they go to see doctors (often when the condition is worsened). Lucky if they have friends who inform them when they notice the difference on their toenail (if they dare to show it). So, this is about time to know what toenail fungus looks like.

Now read this:

This is what toenail/nail fungus looks like:

- Brittle nails that split easily
- Your nail grows back deformed
- It's uncomfortable to walk because the nail rubs against your shoes
- Yellowish or discoloration nail color
- In an advanced stage it has a foul odor.

Read this also:

"First of all, your nail (or sometimes nails) will begin to turn colors. It may start out as small white to yellow patches on or underneath the nail. As the infection progresses, the nail may turn brown or even black. It may look like you have a bruise on your toenail. If your nail looks like this, but it does not get better, then you are probably facing toenail fungus.

Continue reading...Next, you may notice that your nails may lose strength. The nail will seem thinner than usual and may flake off. Chipped and brittle nails are classic signs of toenail fungus. In fact, parts of the nail may fall off all together, or the whole nail may come off. You should also know that while some people experience thinning nails, others may find that their nails thicken, so that it is difficult to trim the nails.

Another sign of toenail fungus is that you will notice that debris and dirt seem to collect under your nail. That is actually a product of the fungus and is not dirt. No amount of cleaning will cause this to go away until the fungus is treated. Your nails may also put off a bad odor. This smell may be compared to “belly button” smell. Pain and discomfort will also accompany toenail fungus." (www.home-remedies-for-you.com)

I hope I have enlightened you on something you're not clear about.

The search for the greatest toenail fungus remedies is still going on...

Thanks for reading!

These infections are caused by a fungus which belongs to the group called dermatophytes(as for example Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton interdigitale). Our nails are tough in structure. Nevertheless these funguses have the capacity to eat up the keratin in the skin of the nail bed and in the nails. That’s how the infection continues. Apart from fungus, yeasts (candida albicans) and moulds can also cause nail fungus. Nail fungus appears more in toenails than in fingernails.
